The Growth Operations Director reports to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) and leads the Growth Operations team, which includes all proposal managers, writers, publishers along with the GWAC/IDIQ Program Management Office staff. This role encompasses implementing and facilitating the Belcan Growth Process from business development to award transition to ensure successful growth of the company through sound decision making and compliant proposals. The role requires interacting directly with growth members of each business portfolio, partners, and customers as well as indirect staff (finance, HR, marketing, and contracts). The employee will have strong organizational, analytical, and business skills and experience developing structured processes and pipeline management to execute both government and commercial growth.
Key Accountabilities
Growth Operations Director role will:
- Work closely with the Chief Growth Officer, Service Line Leaders, and the Account Managers to assist in achieving Belcan's growth targets
- Manage a team of proposal managers, writers, and the GWAC/IDIQ staff
- Manage proposal resources to the high demands of thousands of proposals annually
- Organize and oversee the Belcan Growth Operations automated processes such as Dashboards, Salesforce and workflows
- Attend and contribute at all pipeline review meetings
- Mange and participate in bi-weekly gate reviews
- Support proposal development as needed, i.e., participate as a color reviewer or quality control/compliance reviewer
- Act as the focal point for operating, maintaining, and improving the growth processes, templates, and tools
- Work with recruiting to enable hiring of the right staff required to expand the growth team; including drafting role specifications, CV screening, and first round interviews
- Conduct training on the Belcan Growth Process as needed
- Attend conferences or customer engagements as required
- Perform typical managerial duties such as holding staff meetings, approving leave, approving timecards, conducting performance appraisals/reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Shipley, Lohfeld, or APMP training and certifications
Experience & Skills
- At least 5 years' experience in managing teams of 5 or more employees
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in proposal management for government
- Experience working in both the federal and commercial sectors
- Proficient in MS Suite including SharePoint
- Proficient using Salesforce
- Familiarity with Visible Thread or other AI tools for proposal development
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in remote teams; outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully manage a variety of relationships
- Flexible work attitude: the ability to work in a team environment and independently, and to meet unexpected demands, prioritize, and multitask
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10% of the time
- Excellent customer focus, strong attention to detail, and ability to operate in a dynamic sales organization
- Substantial experience and a successful track record managing teams in dispersed environments with minimal supervision
- Hybrid position out of Sterling, VA or Cincinnati, OH
- Must be a U.S. citizen with eligibility to get a secret clearance
