Job Summary:
A Strategic Government Relations & Business Development Coordinator position is available for a motivated, charismatic, and enthusiastic problem-solver to support government engagement efforts and promote Belcan's services. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to build expertise at the intersection of government relations, business development, and strategic communications. You will support relationship-building with government agencies, assist in identifying contract opportunities, and help promote Belcan's capabilities to public sector clients. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or related) and 0 to 4 years of experience (internships, co-ops, or related professional experience accepted). This position requires strong interpersonal presence, excellent problem-solving abilities, proficiency with AI tools, outstanding communication skills, eagerness to learn, and the capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Job Duties:
- Government Engagement & Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with government officials, agency representatives, and procurement officers at federal, state, and local levels; represent Belcan with professionalism at meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
- Business Development Support: Identify government contract opportunities, assist with proposal development, and prepare materials for competitive bids and RFP responses.
- Travel & Client Visits: Travel regularly (up to 40% of time) to meet with government clients, attend agency briefings, participate in industry conferences, and conduct site visits to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
- AI-Enhanced Research & Analysis: Leverage AI tools to conduct market research, analyze procurement data, monitor solicitations, and compile competitive intelligence to support strategy development.
- Communications & Content Creation: Develop presentations, capability statements, correspondence, and marketing materials that effectively showcase Belcan's qualifications to government audiences, using AI tools to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Problem-Solving & Process Improvement: Identify workflow challenges, propose creative solutions, and implement improvements to enhance team effectiveness and client engagement.
- Event Coordination & Networking: Support logistics for government industry days, agency briefings, and conferences; engage attendees to build meaningful connections and generate business opportunities.
- Database & Pipeline Management: Maintain records of government contacts, opportunities, and business development activities using CRM systems and government contracting platforms.
Required Qualifications:
- 0 to 4 years of professional experience in business development, communications, public relations, government relations, or related fields (internships, co-ops, and early-career roles accepted).
- Strong interpersonal presence and charisma with ability to build rapport quickly, engage diverse audiences, and represent the company with confidence and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to identify issues, think critically, and develop creative solutions.
- Proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or other generative AI platforms for research, content creation, data analysis, and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and willingness to learn CRM platforms and other business tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate persuasively and adapt style to different audiences.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and comfort representing the organization publicly.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, or related).
- Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity, conduct research, or create content in academic or professional settings.
- Public speaking experience or track record of leadership in professional or student organizations demonstrating ability to influence and engage others.
- Internship or professional experience related to government, business development, or communications.
- Basic understanding of government contracting or public sector operations.
- Experience with data analysis or automation tools.
- Previous experience in roles requiring travel or field work.
- Strong work ethic and desire to develop expertise in government relations and business development.
