Job Summary:

A Technologist job in Oakland Park, FL is currently available through Belcan at one of our key Federal Civilian clients.  To be considered for this role, you will have an associate degree and 7 years of relevant experience.

Job Duties:

Classified Material Pickup & Transport

  • Coordinate pickup of all incoming classified materials from the U.S. Department of State's Miami Regional Diplomatic Courier Division (Miami Pouch Facility).
  • Transport classified pouch materials up to the Secret level, typically twice per week (frequency subject to change).
  • Operate a U.S. Government vehicle in accordance with Department of State, FRC, federal, and state regulations.
  • Load and secure all classified items in compliance with applicable security protocols.
  • Deliver materials directly to the FRC facility while strictly following motor vehicle and security regulations.
  • Maintain all required safeguards and controls over classified material, including proper securing of holding areas.

Classified Destruction Operations

  • Destroy classified equipment and materials as directed, using the AmeriShred Shredder AMSQS42100 or other designated equipment.
  • Operate a SSMD 2MM SSD Media Disintegrator (NSA/CSS EPLlisted) to destroy solidstate drives (SSDs) and portable electronic devices.
  • Verify destruction of all SSDs by tracking serial numbers or IMEIs; handle nonserialized devices by piece count.
  • Inspect destruction equipment daily and cease operations if equipment damage or residue irregularities are detected.
  • Maintain detailed paperbased records of destroyed materials and notify originating posts of final disposition.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Perform minor maintenance on the AMSQS42100 per manufacturer guidelines, including greasing bearings, visual inspections, and logging operating hours.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities Manager and designated vendors for repairs, scheduled maintenance, and annual servicing.
  • Escort and monitor vendors during onsite maintenance visits.

Material Handling & Warehouse Duties

  • Safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (or more when using team lifting procedures).
  • Use governmentprovided equipment such as hydraulic jacks, forklifts, and electric pallet movers to handle drums weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Move destroyed material drums to the warehouse loading area and coordinate vendor pickup for recycling or disposal.
  • Break down and dispose of packing materials in appropriate recycling containers.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas free of obstructions and hazards.
  • Follow all OSHA and warehouse safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Develop and implement storage plans for assigned areas and coordinate movement of classified materials as directed.

Communication & Reporting

  • Provide regular status updates and destruction reports to the GTM or designated authority.
  • Immediately report emergencies, hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues.
  • Maintain communication with authorized vendors as directed by the GTM.

Required Qualifications:

  • Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. 
  • 1 year of work experience in a warehouse logistics environment. 
  • Associate's degree and 7 years of work experience. 
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. 
  • OSHA approved certifications for forklift and electric pallet jack operation. 
  • OSHA warehouse safety training certificate.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds or more.
  • Ability to solve problems and encourage consistent, solid performance.
  • English language (written and spoken) communications skills at an adequate level to work in an office and communicate over the phone and electronically.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate activities in multiple locations, act decisively in daily work, and work well in a multi-cultural team environment. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.  Must be able to use U.S. Government computer databases and emails sufficient to run reports, and export and analyze data.
  • Ability to work independently to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Logistics/warehouse experience in support of the U.S. Government.     

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $65,000 - $78,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
