Job Summary: The MCSC SATCOM Services Administrator monitors and supports the Blue Force Tracking (BFT‑2) networks within a 24/7/365 NOC environment. This role provides Tier I and Tier II diagnostics, performs system triage, escalates issues as needed, and conducts routine maintenance on network systems. The administrator is responsible for monitoring servers, applications, and network performance using standard and custom tools, logging and resolving events through a proprietary ticketing system, and communicating accurate situation reports to team members. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established technical procedures to ensure reliable SATCOM network operations.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor and support BFT‑2 SATCOM networks in a 24/7/365 NOC environment.
  • Perform Tier I and Tier II diagnostics, system triage, and troubleshooting of network, server, and application issues.
  • Escalate incidents to Tier III engineering support when required.
  • Conduct routine system maintenance and oversee maintenance activities on SATCOM network components.
  • Monitor network performance using standard and custom tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Log, track, and resolve events and incidents using a proprietary ticketing system.
  • Provide accurate and timely situation reports to team members and leadership.
  • Follow established technical procedures and protocols to ensure reliable SATCOM operations.
  • Support hardware and application troubleshooting using approved tools and techniques.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and uphold operational standards in all monitoring and support activities.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain at least an Interim Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain IAT‑II certification within 90 days of hire.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or technical helpdesk environment.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts in support of 24/7/365 operations.
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and operational impact.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self‑starter with a high level of personal accountability and reliability.
  • Key Sill sets: Hands‑on Linux experience, including basic proficiency with the Linux command‑line interface. Working knowledge of satellite communications baseband, network management, and modem systems, including VSAT, highly preferred.

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position offers a salary range of $60,000- $72,000/year. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
