Job Summary:

A DTSPO Liaison job in Springfield, VA is currently available through Belcan at one of our key Federal Civilian clients.  To be considered for this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of relevant experience.

Job Duties:

  1. Circuit Management and Operations:
    • Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of terrestrial and satellite communication circuits to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
    • Monitor circuit performance, identify issues, and coordinate timely resolutions to minimize service disruptions.
    • Ensure compliance with Department standards, policies, and security protocols for all communication systems.
  2. Liaison and Coordination:
    • Act as the primary point of contact between Department headquarters, embassies, consulates, and posts for all matters related to communication circuits.
    • Collaborate with local and regional service providers to coordinate circuit installations, upgrades, and repairs.
    • Facilitate communication between technical teams and leadership to ensure alignment on operational priorities and requirements.
  3. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical expertise to diagnose and resolve issues with terrestrial and satellite circuits, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
    • Support embassy and post staff in understanding and utilizing communication systems effectively.
    • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams or vendors as needed.
  4. System Optimization and Upgrades:
    • Evaluate existing communication systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
    • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in terrestrial and satellite communications to identify opportunities for modernization.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of circuit configurations, service agreements, and performance metrics.
    • Prepare regular reports on circuit status, incidents, and resolutions for leadership and stakeholders.
  6. Training and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Provide training and guidance to embassy and post staff on the use and maintenance of communication systems.
    • Share best practices and lessons learned to improve overall system performance and user experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing terrestrial and satellite communication systems, preferably in a government or international environment.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, circuit design, and satellite communication technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with secure communication systems and encryption technologies.
  • Familiarity with Department of State operations and global communication requirements.

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $145,000 - $175,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
