Job Summary:

A Quality of Service Engineer job in Springfield, VA is currently available through Belcan at one of our key Federal Civilian clients.  To be considered for this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 7+ years of relevant experience.

Job Duties:

  1. QoS Implementation and Management:
    • Design, configure, and implement QoS protocols to prioritize network traffic and ensure optimal performance for voice, video, and data transmissions.
    • Monitor and adjust QoS settings to align with evolving operational needs and user expectations.
  2. Network Performance Monitoring:
    • Utilize network monitoring tools to assess performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure network systems meet established QoS standards.
  3. Optimization and Troubleshooting:
    • Analyze network architecture and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
    • Resolve network-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to implement best practices for network management.
    • Provide technical guidance and training to team members on QoS protocols and tools.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of network configurations, QoS settings, and performance metrics.
    • Prepare reports on network performance and recommend strategies for improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in network operations, with a focus on QoS implementation and management.
  • Proficiency in networking tools and technologies, including QoS protocols, LAN/WAN architecture, and VoIP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with network security protocols and practices.
  • Familiarity with government or enterprise-level network systems.

 


 Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $130,000 - $150,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
