Job Summary:

The Storage Administrator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and performance of enterprise storage systems across a diverse, multi‑vendor environment. This role ensures data availability, integrity, and optimal performance for mission‑critical applications.

Job Duties: 

  • Manage and maintain enterprise storage systems including SAN, NAS, and object storage platforms.
  • Monitor storage performance, capacity utilization, and health across all storage arrays.
  • Provision storage volumes, LUNs, shares, and exports for servers and applications.
  • Perform storage zoning, masking, and host mapping tasks.
  • Troubleshoot storage performance issues, connectivity failures, and hardware errors.
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle maintenance on storage hardware.
  • Coordinate with VMware, Compute, and Database teams for storage-related support activities.
  • Conduct regular backups verification, snapshot management, and replication checks.
  • Support disaster recovery processes including failover, validation, and recovery testing.
  • Maintain storage documentation including diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, and configuration records.
  • Respond to incidents and requests through the ITSM system with accurate documentation.
  • Analyze trends in storage usage and provide forecasts for capacity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and change management policies.
  • Collaborate with vendors for hardware support, replacement, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior network staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Storage Provisioning - Allocate and manage storage volumes, LUNs, shares, and quotas across SAN/NAS platforms.
  • Multi‑Vendor Storage Support - Administer EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM, Pure, Hitachi, or similar storage arrays.
  • SAN Fabric Management - Configure zoning, masking, and connectivity across Brocade/Cisco fabrics.
  • NAS Administration - Manage CIFS/NFS shares, permissions, snapshots, and replication.
  • Performance Monitoring - Analyze latency, throughput, IOPS, and capacity trends to optimize performance.
  • Backup & Recovery - Support backup platforms (NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam) and ensure successful restore operations.
  • Data Protection - Implement snapshots, replication, and DR strategies across storage systems.
  • Incident & Problem Resolution - Diagnose storage failures, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Automation & Scripting - Use PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate provisioning and reporting.
  • Documentation - Maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and configuration records.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration - Work with server, virtualization, cloud, and network teams to support business workloads.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3-8 years of experience in enterprise storage administration.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least two major storage vendors.
  • Experience supporting storage in virtualized and cloud‑integrated environments.
  • SAN/NAS Expertise - Strong understanding of Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB.
  • Experience with multi‑vendor storage arrays (EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM, Pure, Hitachi).
  • Knowledge of storage replication, snapshots, deduplication, and tiering.
  • Familiarity with Brocade/Cisco SAN switches.
  • Understanding of VMware storage concepts (datastores, vSAN, multipathing).
  • Experience with backup technologies (NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage large‑scale enterprise storage environments.

  • EMC Proven Professional
  • NetApp NCDA/NCIE
  • HPE ASE
  • Brocade or Cisco SAN certifications
  • ITIL Foundation

 

 

 


 Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $95,000-$105,000 Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
