Systems Architect

Job Summary: The Systems Architect ensures that the customers' needs are being met by using current technologies and methodologies. Designs the product to be built by the cloud engineers and or engineering teams. Ensure that all teams have proper tools and access to their respected environments and ensure the usage of the latest technical methodologies.
 
Job Duties:
  • Architect virtualized environments, including VM deployment, VM storage, VM networking. 
  • Oversee Solutions repository and ensure top quality solutions are available to the staff. 
  • Develop an effective and workable framework for managing and improving customer IT support in the organization. 
  • Advise management on situations that may require additional client support or escalation. 
  • Manage process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization. 
  • Install, configure, automate, and monitor various cloud service and non-cloud services. 
  • Maintain and manage a repository of scripts to be used by the AWS Engineering team and or data engineering team. 
  • Work closely with a team of architects, engineers, and developers to create functional design specifications, AWS and or reference architectures, and assist with other project deliverables as needed. 
  • Design state-of-the-art technical solutions on AWS and or non AWS, that address customer's requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
  •  Perform other duties or responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess at minimum an Interim Secret clearance. 
  • Must be able to obtain an IAT-II certification within the first 90 days of hire
  • BS or BA preferred but not required.
  • 10years of experience in architecting solutions for both physical and or cloud environments. 
  • Strong technical expertise in CSP IaaS or equivalent - Governance, network, security, identity, compute, storage, backup and DR, monitoring and automation. 
  • Understanding of PaaS and DevOps solutions is a must. 
  • Hands-on experience in POC and production deployments is required in Cloud GCP and or non Cloud.. 
  • Knowledge of scripting tools like PowerShell, Terraform CLI is needed. 
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly. 
  • Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively. 
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (senior executives, IT management, and developers).
  • Understanding of PaaS and DevOps solutions is a must. 
 
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of 150,000-165,000 Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
