A Solutions Architect job in Remote -RE is currently available through Belcan at one of our key clients.  To be considered for this role, you will have a Master's Degree (PhD preferred), and  20 + years of relevant experience. You will have exceptional analytical, verbal, and written skills for effective communication of technical concepts / architectures / designs to internal / external current / future clients, vendors, and partners. Your ability to partner, collaborate, and establish allies will be key to your success in this role.


We seek a highly skilled Senior Solutions Architect to join our team and lead the design, development, and deployment of complex technical solutions that align with our business goals and client requirements. The Senior Solutions Architect will work closely with stakeholders, clients, partners, and vendors across engineering, product, and client services teams, to craft robust, scalable, and secure architectures that deliver value to support the office of the CTO company's strategic objectives.

Job Duties:

  • Architectural Design: Lead the architecture and design of solutions across various platforms, ensuring they meet business, security, and operational requirements
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, partners, and vendors to understand technology trends, innovation, and business goals, technical requirements, and constraints focusing on translating these into high-level solution designs.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide and partner with engineering teams through the implementation of solutions, provide hands-on support as needed, and ensure architectural consistency.
  • Project Oversight: Manage the technical aspects of projects, including development timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Innovation & Best Practices: Drive the adoption of best practices in design, security, and software engineering; introduce new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Client Focused Timely Delivery and Presentations: Engage with prospects and client at all stages of the sales / delivery / implementation cycle to support professional client success; Create and  maintain, detailed architectural documentation (including DoDAF) to facilitate communication and collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders under deadlines; Solution Design using drawing tools (eg Visio) and PowerPoint presentation skills are required
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering an environment and culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Technology Analysis and Vendor Relations: Work with current / future clients, partners, and vendors to align solution designs with external requirements and integration opportunities; establish relevant relationships, and perform timely and relevant analysis of alternatives (AoA) trade-off analyses

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (PhD preferred).
  • Experience: 20+ years of experience in IT architecture supporting DoD, IC and/or FedCIV, with a focus on enterprise solutions, cloud architecture, innovation, advanced technology and systems integration.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices architecture, APIs, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication with extensive track record in working on government proposals (RFI, RFP, RFQ responses) collaboration, and problem-solving abilities; demonstrated experience conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with (1) compliance and security standards relevant to the industry (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001); (2) Cloud Service Provider (CSP) architecture supporting government environments including but not limited to Azure, AWS, GCP; (3) technology trends 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • PhD
  • Extensive Experience with DoDAF, NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, MITRE ATLAS, CAPEC and other relevant industry standard frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in support of RFI, RFQ, RFP activities
  • Extensive experience supporting FedCiv, DoD, and IC customers

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $185,000 - 195,000.   Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
